 On 21 April, the company launched UbuntuConnect, a new air freight facility between Guangzhou (China) and Africa, a 100-ton-per-week route through Dubai to deliver essential goods. Amadou Diallo, the group’s CEO for the Middle East and Africa, explained to Jeune Afrique Business+ that DHL can keep an eye on “where symptoms are on the rise [on the continent], such as in South Africa, but capacities are essentially directed towards Europe and the United States, given how the epidemic is progressing”.
