The new Managing General Agency (MGA) entity Afrexinsure will, like other Afreximbank initiatives, be based in Mauritius. Expected to launch in the coming months, its intention is to collaborate with Africa Re, the continent’s reinsurance organisation, as well as with other insurers, with a view to strengthening the African offer. The overarching aim is to work towards having some insurance premiums managed in Africa from now on, while helping Afreximbank and other banks to better manage their insurance risk.
