The line should have started as soon as the company was created in 2017, but ended up being postponed for three years. The Djiboutian authorities want to strengthen their port by not limiting it solely to the activities of the international shipowners that serve it. These include the big names in container shipping such as Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Cosco and PIL, as well as niche shipowners Linea Messina and Global Feeder Shipping.
