The Volkswagen Group has found a new regional boss for sub-Saharan Africa. The dynamic Thomas Schaefer – who from Johannesburg managed both the region and the Rainbow Nation’s local subsidiary Volkswagen South Africa, by far the largest in terms of sales and industrial presence – relocated to the Czech Republic at the beginning of September. He was recently appointed CEO of Škoda, one of the group’s thirteen brands (with Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Seat, Cupra, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, MAN SE, Scania, Ducati, and Ionity).
