Strive Masiyiwa’s Liquid Telecom sets first milestone in Ivory Coast

The pan-African fibre optic operator, a subsidiary of Econet, has filed articles of association for a local subsidiary. An important turning point for the conglomerate, which has yet to establish a footprint in West Africa.

Scant information has been forthcoming about the new subsidiary. But things are starting to move in the Ivorian capital with the registration of a company called Liquid télécommunications Côte d’Ivoire last December in the form of a limited liability company (SARLU) with a capital of CFAF 500 000.
