▪ According to Jeune Afrique Business + sources, the two venture capitalists took part in an extension of the Series A of the impact company founded in 2012 and active in Uganda and Kenya, according to Jeune Afrique Business + sources.
With regional business angels—whose identity remains undisclosed—Partech and Enza Capital have completed a fundraising round of $3.6 billion favouring Tugende. This brings the Series A entity, founded by Michael Wilkerson, a former Google intern and political science graduate of Stanford and Oxford, to $9.9 million. This series was produced in September 2020 with Mobility 54, the Toyota Tsuho fund, as the leader.
