Sahofika Dam: Neho brings in donors and lowers the price of kWh

Thirteen banks and institutions agreed to participate in the round table, covering the financing needs and substantially reducing costs to about €750 million. In addition, the State will take 20% of the project company thanks to various loans and multilateral donations.

At the end of a long process started in 2016, the Neho consortium (Neo Themis, Eiffage, Eranove), promoter of the Sahofika Hydro Power Plant project, can go ahead after the Malagasy State agrees on the concession was made official on 15 November in the presence of President Andry Rajoelina. This follows a compromise on reducing the duration of the concession and the price of electricity sold to the public company Jirama.
