B2Gold invests $3 million in exploration in Bakolobi following its agreement with Baris Travaux

In the wake of the key Menankoto permit obtained last year, the Canadian mining company recorded another success in April of this year in Mali, just as strategic. This was the securing of the Bakolobi exploration title, previously under the control of Baris Travaux.

This licence, covering 100 km2, is perhaps even more critical. It surrounds to the east and north the Medinandi mining licence, which hosts Fekola, the flagship mine in B2Gold‘s portfolio. But more importantly, it also encompasses to the south and east the Menankoto South block, which covers part of the Anaconda target north of Fekola, which will be used to extend the latter’s life.
