Proparco’s Françoise Lombard negotiates €30 million in financing for start-ups via Digital Africa

The new chief executive officer of the French Development Agency’s (AFD) private sector financing arm has incorporated the platform as a wholly-owned subsidiary to understand better the problems of financing digital players on the continent.

Proparco CEO Françoise Lombard, who replaced Grégory Clémente in March, plans to provide Digital Africa with a venture capital role. The entity will now focus on financing fintechs and start-ups in the pre-seed or seed stages.
