The European Investment Bank (EIB) will approve a €20 million line of credit for the Banque Mauritanienne d’Investissement (BMI), which entered the Mauritanian banking landscape in December 2017. BMI, based in Nouakchott and operating exclusively in the Islamic finance segment, was created by Mohamed Zein El Abidine. He holds 40% alongside investors, believed to be Emiratis.
