At the beginning of June the banks’ takeover proposal was turned down by the majority shareholder Jaccar, the holding company of Jacques de Chateauvieux. They offered a cash injection of €120m ($132m) to wipe out half of the group’s debt of €2.7bn ($2.98bn) in exchange for 93% of the capital, with the exit of Jacques de Chateauvieux and a ban on him from holding shares for five years.
