Madrid lobbies to host the OECD Africa Economic Forum

Usually held in Paris, the OECD International Economic Forum on Africa will this year be held for the first time in Spain. Madrid, which currently chairs the OECD Development Centre, hopes to use the occasion to highlight its priorities for the continent.

For the past twenty years, the International Economic Forum on Africa has been held in Paris, home of the OECD. But this year, for the 19th edition on 29 November, the event moves to the Spanish capital. According to information obtained by Jeune Afrique Business +, the Spanish government lobbied hard to act as host of the Forum.
