MSC: Diego Aponte finds his new right-hand man at Maersk
MSC, the world’s second-largest shipping line, has hired Søren Toft as its new CEO for container shipping and logistics, based in Geneva.

Søren Toft joins the group to support Diego Aponte who was previously directly in charge of supervising MSC’s container business. In 2014, Diego Aponte took over at the helm from his father Gianluigi, the founder of the giant shipping and cruise company and who, at the age of 79, remains, Chairman of the Board. Diego Aponte joined MSC in 1997 where he works alongside his sister Alexa and brother-in-law Pierfrancesco Vago.
