ICSID: King & Spalding represent U.S. trader Gerald (SL Mining) in dispute with Sierra Leone
The group estimates its losses at over $500m following the suspension of its iron ore export licence by the Sierra Leone government this summer and the cancellation of its mining licence on 7 October.

The dispute was referred to the ICSID at the beginning of the month by Gerald International Ltd, the UK holding of SL Mining which is owned by the U.S. commodity trading company Gerald Group. To put together its case against the Sierra Leone state, Gerald International recruited London-based law firm King & Spalding International and King & Spalding in Washington.
