Following its success in Niger, Wika wins projects worth over $350m on the continent

After recently signing an agreement to build a landmark tower in Senegal, the Indonesian construction firm expands its African portfolio with new projects in Côte d’Ivoire and Tanzania.

Without disclosing further details at this stage, a source at Wijaya Karya (Wika) confirmed to Jeune Afrique Business+ that the Côte d’Ivoire project will involve more than $60 million for the development of social housing in the country. At the same time, the Jakarta-based group, which specialises in the engineering and construction sectors, will also develop a liquid bulk terminal project on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar with a budget of around $40 million.
