Djibouti: new legal victory for DP World

Events move on and the former operator of the Doraleh container terminal, which is challenging its exclusion in 2018 by the State of Djibouti, continues to receive legal backing.

Following an earlier decision to the same effect in April 2019, a tribunal of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) ordered Djibouti to reinstate DP World‘s rights under the concession agreement it signed in 2006 with DP World and its 33%-owned subsidiary Doraleh Container Terminal SA. According to a communiqué issued on 13 January by the government of Dubai, the State of Djibouti has two months to comply or must otherwise pay damages.
