Morocco: Omar Tazi (Sothema) retires and hands over to his daughter Lamia
The daughter of the founder of the Moroccan pharmaceutical laboratory takes over as Chairman and CEO of the group which was the first in the sector to be listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange in 2005.

Lamia Tazi joined Sothema, the group founded by her father Omar Tazi, as a pharmacist in 1998. She rose rapidly through the ranks to become Managing Director in 2000 under the leadership of her father who resigned from his duties as CEO in mid-January. In addition to chairing the Board of Directors, she also takes on the chairmanship of an ad hoc monitoring committee to oversee the company’s strategic orientations.
