South African fund Africa Capitalworks joins Madiou Simpara’s (Gaselia) funding round
For its first transaction, the Johannesburg-based fund is taking a “very large” stake in the Malian beverage group. The group already received support in the form of loans from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Proparco.

The Malian group Gaselia, which employs nearly 800 people, just received a sizable capital contribution to boost the production of its beverages after South African fund Africa Capitalworks joined its funding round via a capital increase. The fund invested several “tens of millions of euros,” according to a well-informed source.
