Chromium mining in Madagascar: Kraoma looking for a new partner but Ferrum Mining determined to stay
No ore has been extracted from the mine near Brieville since December 2019. Operations have been suspended because of a disagreement between the two owners over the evaluation of the site’s resources.

And time is running out. Without income for several months, Kraoma‘s director Nirina Rakotomanantsoa is looking for new investors to inject cash into the mining company in the short term, and to invest in the extraction and processing of chrome and gold in the long term. The Malagasy state-owned company has begun discussions with major Chinese and Indian companies to this end.
