Chris Kirubi takes advantage of Centum’s weak price to raise capital

The Kenyan tycoon will increase his share in the group from 28.94% to 49.99% for 133 million dollars. On 20 March, Centum’s share price hit its lowest point since 2013.

Shares in the investment company, which was created in 1967 by sovereign wealth fund the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC), were trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) at 20.25 Kenyan shillings (€0.18) on 23 March, the same day the millionaire announced that he would buyback 20% of shares.
