Endeavour’s takeover of SEMAFO: the inside story
The transaction, under negotiation since 2018, was nearly completed in 2019, Jeune Afrique Business+ has learned.

SEMAFO has been one of Endeavour Mining’s targets for a long time: “Endeavour has had its eye on it for a while”, an informed source explained. The transaction does not fundamentally change the game for Endeavour, but it will enable the company to consolidate its assets in Burkina Faso, even if by that same token it will increase its exposure to the country – and therefore its risk – our source added.
