Samaila Zubairu welcomes Kingsley Obiora as chairman of the AFC’s board of directors
The institution, which manages more than $5bn worth of infrastructure projects, has selected a debt and economic policy expert as its chairman. Three directors are also joining the board.

Since 24 April 2020, the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) has a new chairman of the board of directors, Kingsley Obiora. The Nigerian – who holds a doctorate in Monetary & International Economics from the University of Ibadan and a second in Econometrics from George Washington University – will continue to serve in his current position as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he is responsible for economic policy and financial system.
