Tunisia: former transport minister Chiheb Ben Ahmed steps in to help SNCFT

The state-owned railway company looks to a former transport minister to attempt to get afloat again.

Chiheb Ben Ahmed, appointed as President and CEO of Tunisia’s national railway company, Société nationale des chemins de fer tunisien (SNCFT), had ruled out the once-planned privatisation of the state-owned company in 2014, when he was serving as Minister of Transport under Mehdi Jomaa’s government.
