Extended to cover Covid, European bank guarantee system NASIRA will be operational in the second half of the year (€110m)
Led by Dutch development bank FMO, the programme targeting women’s entrepreneurship and VSBs affected by the pandemic in Africa has just been allocated an additional €25m. Four consultancies are in the running for the project’s technical assistance.

Launched at the Africa-Europe Forum 2018, the European NASIRA bank guarantee programme, which has been entrusted to Dutch development bank FMO, should be operational by the second half of this year. “The contract between the FMO and the European Union is not yet complete, and should be finalised in May or June,” a source close to the project told Jeune Afrique Business+.
