Kore Potash scales back its ambitions in the Congo and is now merely seeking $280m
Just a few months ago, the potash project developer was still working on the $1bn+ Kola Potash mining project in the Congo, with potential partners including TechnipFMC, Egis, Louis Dreyfus and Vinci Construction Grands Projets.

However, with the mining company struggling to find sources of investment, it has been forced to rein in its ambitions, according to a reliable source. Kore Potash is now focusing on developing a smaller project called the Dogou Extension, requiring a capital cost of $286m, according to the latest pre-feasibility study, compared to $327m, as reported in an earlier study. A feasibility study still needs to be conducted prior to fundraising.
