WDB Investment Holdings’ new fund will support the growth of companies in sub-Saharan Africa that meet the criteria of the 2X Challenge, a programme launched last year by DFIs in G7 countries to support gender equality. Tickets will be for minority stakes – up to 49% with allocation of board seats – in firms led by women or whose activities meet the needs of women on the continent. Companies must also have a minimum capital of 500m rand (€26m) to be eligible.
