Averda sues the Gabonese state in an attempt to recover €35m debt
The Lebanese waste management company filed a request for arbitration against the Gabonese government at the beginning of June at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jeune Afrique Business+ has learned. The company, which operated in the Gabonese capital from December 2014 to September 2019, had several times contested the state’s defaulted payments.

The conflict between Averda and Gabon continues in France. After several attempts at amicable conciliation, the Lebanese waste management company filed a request for arbitration against the Gabonese authorities in early June at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration, based in Paris.
