The challenges awaiting Nguéto Yambaye as head of FAGACE

Appointed in the midst of the Covid crisis, the Chadian economist has become the African investment promotion institution’s seventh Director General. In this position, he will be tasked with finding solutions to reassure the many SMEs whose futures have been at risk over recent months.

On 24 July this year, Nguéto Tiraina Yambaye took the reins at the African Economic Guarantee and Cooperation Fund (known by its French acronym, FAGACE) for a four-year term. His appointment comes in the throes of the Covid-19 health crisis, at a time when many clients are encountering difficulties and relying on the guarantees offered by the institution to avoid defaulting on payments.
