Actis exit from energy company Eneo no longer on the cards

The renewal of its concession, until 2031, has helped to clear up misunderstandings between the British fund and the Cameroonian state. Eneo can now happily roll out its €794m, 10-year investment plan.

Having learned a year ago of Actis’ planned sale of its 55% share in Eneo, several operators, including China International Water & Electric Corporation (CWE), expressed an interest. However, this withdrawal is now off the table, as Yaounde extended the concession for the British fund’s subsidiary in the second half of last year.
