Our sources tell us that tobacco company Régie Nationale des Tabacs et des Allumettes (RNTA), headed by Taoufik Abbes, is Tunis Stock Exchange’s (BVMT) priority target in its mission to entice public companies.

Meetings on this very subject have already taken place between representatives from the financial marketplace and leaders of the majority union UGTT. “At first reluctant, the union leaders have not rejected the proposal, although nothing is confirmed yet,” a source close to the matter told Jeune Afrique Business+.
