Côte d’Ivoire/Burkina Faso: John Dorward to leave Roxgold after Fortuna merger offer

The Canadian mining company, due to make an investment decision regarding the development of the Séguéla gold mine in western Côte d’Ivoire, has its management disrupted by the merger with Fortuna Silver Mines Inc.

The transaction between the two companies, listed in New York and Toronto, is valued at around C$1.1 billion and has yet to get the green light from the stock market authorities. Its finalisation is scheduled for next July. Appian Capital Advisory LLP, Roxgold’s largest shareholder (13%) has given the green light to the transaction.
