Eight groups in the running for Namibia’s Rosh Pinah wind project
NamPower, Namibia’s national power utility, has selected five Chinese, Indian, German and Danish consortia after the pre-qualification phase for the engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) of the 40-MW site in the Sperrgebiet National Park on the Atlantic coast.

The following have been pre-qualified: the Chinese joint venture Harbin Electric Corporation Wind Power/China Huadian Engineering; India’s Suzlon Energy Limited; the Chinese joint venture Ming Yang Smart Energy Group/Zhuhai Singyee Energy-Saving Technology/Zhongnoa Green Energy Technology; the Chinese consortium Sany/CGGC; Nordex Energy South Africa RF, a subsidiary of Germany’s Nordex Group; Vestas Southern Africa, a South African affiliate of the Danish Vestas Group; and the Chinese consortium GoldWind-Hydrochina.
