Privatisation of the Egyptian ports has the majors interested
With several port projects announced or underway with the likes of CMA CGM, CK Hutchison, AD Ports and Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd and Eurogate, Egypt is accelerating the consolidation by privatising the seven main terminals historically held by the Army.

The move was initiated at the beginning of the month by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, who intends to bring into the state coffers €10 billion per year over four years by opening the capital of ten public companies.
