WAEMU sanctions against Mali : proceedings on the merits of the lawyers’ collective underway

The Malian collective, comprising lawyers registered at the local bar – Moustapha Cisse, Ousmane Mama Traoré, Amadou Diarra, Cheick Konare, Fatoumata Sidibe Diarra and Abdourahamane Ben Mamata Toure – is advancing the proceedings to annul the sanctions against Mali.

This unprecedented move, initiated at the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) Court of Justice, will undoubtedly take time as the court has to decide on an extremely sensitive case that is under the spotlight.
