Perseus still waiting for Côte d’Ivoire to issue a mining permit for Bagoé

The Australian gold producer, which recorded AUS$1.126 billion in the 12 months to 30 June this year, is waiting for a green light from Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy to extend the life of the Sissingué mine in the north of the country.

With the commissioning of Yaouré this summer, Perseus Mining now operates two gold mines in Côte d’Ivoire. With 297,818 oz of yellow metal generated last year at a record ASIC of $668/oz – the current gold price is $1,665/oz – Yaouré has clearly become the miner’s flagship asset. By comparison, Edikan, the third mine in its portfolio, produced 134,543 oz in 2022 but at a high cost of $1,534/oz.
