Manganese: behind the scenes at Togo’s new state-owned company 

Africa Business+ looks at the new Société togolaise de manganèse (STM), created by the Togolese government on 5 April.

The plan is for the Société togolaise de manganèse (STM) to have a monopoly in the manganese sector. It will be the only company allowed to develop the country’s manganese deposits, market production, build processing plants and undertake any industrial, commercial, financial, movable or immovable activity involving the mineral.
