Viterra – the agribusiness giant controlled by Glencore, CPP Investments and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation – and Cofco International, the overseas agricultural trading platform of Cofco Corporation – one of the leaders in China’s agri-food sector – won the bid after a restricted tender process marked by a sense of urgency.
