Suez submits a written proposal for the management of water in Gabon

According to Jeune Afrique Business+, the French multinational with revenues of €17bn ($18.7bn) has submitted a proposal to the Gabonese authorities for the management of the water network run by the Société d’énergie et d’eau du Gabon (SEEG) but not for its electricity business.

The French group runs the electricity supply for only one city in the world in Casablanca, Morocco, with Lydec (Lyonnaise des eaux de Casablanca), and has chosen not to make an offer for the management of power in Gabon. Electricity does, nevertheless, generate the lion’s share of SEEG’s revenues ($315m in 2017). Before making its decision, Suez had sent one of its consultants to the country to examine this possibility.
