Collapse of Afrimarket: “profits hit unprecedented levels in recent months”
Despite a promising track record, several funding rounds and better results in recent months, the West African e-commerce company has filed for bankruptcy.

Several months after the stock market flotation of Jumia, a rival African e-commerce operator has recently collapsed. Afrimarket, set up in 2013 by Rania Belkahia and Jeremy Stoss, filed for bankruptcy with the Paris Commercial Court on 6 September.
