Disposal of Orange Niger: minority shareholders Mohamed Rissa and Moctar Thiam eliminate Telecel
According to Jeune Afrique Business+, Orange has ultimately decided to enter into negotiations with its minority shareholders – rather than Telecel – for the disposal of its subsidiary in Niger. Mohamed Rissa and Moctar Thiam recently exercised their pre-emptive rights.

After a selection process in July during which Telecel and a consortium led by businessmen Mohamed Rissa and Moctar Thiam upped their respective takeover offers one after another, Orange Niger has ultimately decided on Telecel. According to a reliable source, the company’s choice was primarily influenced by the financial plan Telecel proposed.
