The exclusive agreement between Total Eren and Nord Gold SE (Nordgold) was signed on 22 October. It covers the development, financing, construction and operation of a 13 MW solar power plant, to be built by the end of March 2020, to provide power for the Bissa-Bouly mines (28% of Nordgold’s activity with 2.61 million ounces produced in 2018). Since it was established in 2007, Nordgold has been run by CEO Nikolai Zelenski, a former executive at McKinsey.
