Absa granted a $75 million trade finance facility from CDC

The UK development finance institution has selected the South African bank for a new risk sharing facility.

After lending its support to FirstRand, Standard Chartered and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, CDC Group has committed a $75m credit line to Absa Group Limited as the banking sector in Africa continues to suffer from the aftershocks of the 2008 financial crisis.
