MSC and Hapag-Lloyd bank on the Port of Tema

The new terminal operated by Meridian Port Services (MPS) (35% Bolloré Ports, 35% APM Terminals, Maersk group and 20% Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority) at Tema opened in June 2019 and is already attracting new users in addition to shipping companies from the existing terminal.

In a symbolic move, the world’s second largest container shipping firm, Italian-Swiss MSC, has selected the Ghanaian port as its second hub in West Africa to complement the LCT terminal at Lomé where it is the main shareholder.
