Coca-Cola seeking to expand its beverage offering in Africa

Global CEO of the Coca-Cola Company James Quincey, 54, has recently completed his first tour of Africa since being appointed in 2017. The visit included stops in Lagos and South Africa in early November. Jeune Afrique Business+ takes a closer look at the Atlanta-based company’s team in Africa which is working to expand its beverage offering into fruit juices, drinking yoghurt and water.

British-born James Quincey, also Chairman of Coca-Cola since April 2019, spent two days in Lagos where at the beginning of 2019 the company finalised its acquisition of Nigerian fruit juice and drinking yoghurt producer CHI (Chivita and Hollandia brands). He then continued to Johannesburg accompanied by his 12-strong extended leadership team.
