Cameroonian Vitalis Chick finalises CNOOC’s projects in Gabon
The Chinese oil company takes over full ownership of the two offshore licences held with Shell and is to invest $30m according to the terms of an agreement signed by its Africa General Manager and the Gabonese government.

Vitalis Chick, Africa General Manager at CNOOC Africa Ltd, signed papers on 26 November with the Gabonese authorities making the Chinese oil group the sole operator of two offshore oil and gas blocks. The BC9 04-224 and BCD10 04-225 blocks cover 13,649.6 square km and lie offshore the Ogooué-Maritime province.
