Roch Marc Christian Kaboré gets new backing for his energy development plan

The African Development Bank has recently approved $53m in financing for the installation of solar power facilities. This support aims to boost the energy sector in Burkina Faso.

In detail, it will involve the construction of four photovoltaic plants connected to the national grid, including a 40 MWp main plant on the Ouaga-Nord site, followed by others in Dori, Gaoua and Diapaga, with a combined capacity of around 10 MWp.

As to the choice of the future EPC contractor, senior sources at the African Development Bank (AfDB) had not responded to our requests for comments at the time of going to press.
