N’Djamena Hilton closed: no word from Abdelkerim Idriss Déby or Minister Mariam Mahamat Nour

Jeune Afrique Business+ has obtained a copy of a letter in which Abdelkerim Idriss Déby, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Presidency and son of Head of State Idriss Déby, instructed Minister Secretary General of the Government Mariam Mahamat Nour to freeze the seizure of the hotel which closed on 30 November last year,

But since this correspondence, dated 26 November 2019, and several reassuring exchanges during December between Abdelkerim Idriss Déby and the U.S. group Salim, until recently the owner of the Hilton establishment, communication has broken down. In spite of sending several requests to these government contacts, the hotel operator has received no further news.
