Lesaffre strengthens its position in Abidjan and looks to Addis Ababa and Nairobi
The French group, one of the world’s leading yeast producers with revenues of €2bn ($2.2bn), has recently opened a centre of expertise in the Ivorian capital and is planning new units in East Africa.

For the inauguration, Lesaffre brought David Jousselme, Overseas General Manager, and Philippe Samyn, Sales Manager, to Abidjan for the launch of this centre built on approximately 120 square metres. According to a spokesperson from the French group’s management, the centre, which was inaugurated on 28 January, will ” bring more expertise and professionalism to bakers, industrialists and the entire business chain.” It will cover some fifteen countries in West and Central Africa, but not Nigeria and Cameroon.
