Row over the appointment of the new Orange Bank CEO in Africa

Hastily announced on Friday, the appointment of the future CEO of Orange’s new online bank in Africa has created a messy situation for the group.

The announcement, which first appeared in the media early in the day and was taken up by several news sites, to appoint Jean-Louis Menann-Kouamé, aged 43, to head Orange Bank in Africa was immediately followed by a message from the operator to not cover the story. The request was difficult to respect considering the name of the Ivorian banker had already been featured across various outlets by late January.
