Kropz, a phosphate project company of Patrice Motsepe‘s ARC group, will have to continue to wait for their Elandsfontein phosphate mine, on the west coast of South Africa, to become operational. An appeal hearing scheduled for 16 March was due to rule on the legality of its water licence, but has been adjourned sine die because of COVID-19. The Water Tribunal, part of the Department of Water and Sanitation, explained that “some stakeholders from areas affected by the virus are undergoing routine self-quarantine”.
